Join Rob, the owner of NC Strength for a deep dive into deadlifting. There will be an hour long presentation and an hour of hands on coaching and movement correction. Presentation starts at 10:00 am and will cover the following:

  • Overview of Rob's training history, nutrition, supplements, programming
  • Overview of deadlift physics and mechanics
  • Conventional vs. Sumo, which one is right for me?
  • Bracing and setup techniques
  • Programming, splits, frequency, etc
  • Best deadlift accessories
  • Common faults and how to fix them

Join Heather for a beginner-focused fundamentals course. If you are brand new or just a couple years into the sport, or thinking of competing for the first time, this will be an invaluable experience. There will be 45 minutes of lecture and about 75 minutes of hands on work with participants. Presentation starts at 10:00 am and will cover the following:

  • What is powerlifting?
  • What are the rules?
  • How do decide a weight class to compete in.
  • How do I get involved in competing?
  • Proper prep for a competition.
  • What if injury occurs? When to say “Right now is not the time to compete”
  • Technique and Form
